Wild Billy Childish has been recording and performing since the 1977 punk explosion. The Pop Rivets, The Milkshakes, Thee Headcoats and The Buff Medways being just a few areas of drums and racket that he has been involved in, and recording some 150 independent LPs along the way, yet music as only his hobby.
Specialising in Chicago style Blues, The Chatham Singers have released three albums since 2005, via Damaged Goods, and over than half a dozen 7” singles. The most recent album, ‘Kings of the Medway Delta’, features a gritty Chess Studio style blues with Billy on lead vocal.
The Chatham Singers are Billy Childish on Vox/Guitar, Julie on Vox/Bass, Wolf Howard on Drums and ‘Bludy’ Jim on Harp.
This top notch 7 inch 45 contains recordings from two different sessions.
Firstly, there’s a version of Billy’s ‘Troubled Mind’ (a previous fave for Thee Headcoats / The Buff Medways), a home recording live onto Revox G-36 1/2 track.
Secondly, there is ‘Ranscombe Farm Boogie’, taken from 2020’s album ‘Kings Of The Medway Delta’, recorded at Jim Riley’s Ranscombe Studios. The resulting genius requiring to be pressed onto a 45 for discos, radio presenters and fair lost souls afar.
Housed in a company sleeve (design by old4legs), this 45 comes with a large 'jukebox' hole.
Limited to 500 copies, this will be available via the label, the group (at gigs) and all good record outlets.

A work of considerable power and subtlety. Certainly a grower but I was hooked on first listen and it seems to improve on subsequent plays. Well done to everyone involved and good luck for the future, hopefully a long and successful future. simon1956smith

Medicine is one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I've ever had to privilege to hear. It helped me get more in touch with my own self, spirituality and nature. It certainly lives up to its name. The flutes, drumming and percussion are just wonderful. This is a great album to let play all the way through. pimblycharles
The posthumous record by the legendary Tony Joe White is full of rugged, smoky blues & Americana, culled from a trove of demos. Bandcamp New & Notable May 10, 2021
The NYC trio push their blown-out garage-blues sound into new territory, on both reinterpreted classics and originals. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 5, 2019
An almost anti-blues/anti-rock style that masters classic sounds while mocking the industry’s perceived seriousness. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 27, 2018
